Even in the wake of a pandemic, our mission of inspiring kids to live healthy lives is essential. It is our goal to continue to educate and motivate kids on how to stay active, eat right, and set goals with the new challenges they may face during this time. Our own Healthy LifeStars Iowa chapter has been doing just that by figuring out new ways to reach our kids in a virtual setting!
Assuming that we won’t be able to send our coaches to our elementary schools this fall to teach our lessons, we are developing a plan to transition our Healthy LifeStar lessons to a virtual format. The intern this summer will be responsible for creating 3 of these online lessons. The student will be responsible for taking 3 of our current lessons and creating online videos that teach the lesson in an interactive and engaging way to play for the elementary students involved in the Healthy LifeStars program. The videos will be posted to our Youtube page and will be shared on social media, as well as with all of our community partners this fall. More specific instructions on lesson development will be discussed if the student choose to pursue this opportunity.
This is an excellent opportunity to expand communication skills, presentation skills and an opportunity to work with a high performing team on a national project.
