Dr. Kitaw Demissie, Professor and Chair, Department of Epidemiology Director, Institute for the Elimination of Health Disparities at Rutgers School of Public Health will address the following questions:Soon to be released in the next few weeks are two Requests for Proposals (RFPs) in these topic areas:
- How do the temporal trends in breast cancer incidence and mortality compare between African Americans and European Americans in the past 30 years?
- What are the potential causes of growing racial disparity in breast cancer mortality?
- Should we target patients or the health care system (including providers) in order to reduce the excess breast cancer death rate among African Americans?
