This webinar has been specifically created to meet the needs of Kansas Accreditation Readiness Project participants. It references resources available in Kansas, and uses the experiences of Kansas LHDs’ as the framework for discussion. It is intended to prepare Kansas health departments for ongoing discussion within the KARP learning collaborative. The purpose of this presentation is to provide a brief overview of Domain 4 and to highlight some of the details of Domain 4 that could be missed.

This presentation focuses on Domain 4. Domain 4 covers various aspects of engaging the community as partners to identify public health issues, develop solutions or improvements, advocate for policy change, and implement public health initiatives. Establishing community partnerships and collaborations helps accomplish public health goals, promotes community resilience, and advances the improvement of your community’s health.
Community Dimension of Public Health Practice – Module 1
Community partnerships are beneficial to achieving broad public health goals, including the development, implementation, evaluation and promotion of population-based health programs. It is important to develop relationships with partners and stakeholders for a given public health problem and understand the principles of good leadership to make these partnerships successful.

Community partnerships are beneficial to achieving broad public health goals, including the development, implementation, evaluation and promotion of population-based health programs. These partnerships may include collaborations with private organizations or local, state or federal government. Identifying the needs of a community and existing community assets are important public health activities and can also involve community partnerships.
