This webinar has been specifically created to meet the needs of Kansas Accreditation Readiness Project participants. It references resources available in Kansas, and uses the experiences of Kansas LHDs’ as the framework for discussion. It is intended to prepare Kansas health departments for ongoing discussion within the KARP learning collaborative. The purpose of this presentation is to provide a brief overview of Domain 5 and to highlight some of the details of Domain 5 that could be missed.
12 Domains to PHABulous: Domain 5: Policies and Plans
The goal of this presentation is to provide an overview of PHAB Domain 5. Domain 5 provides the PHAB accreditation requirements for developing public health policies and public health plans. This presentation will focus on Domain 5: Public Health Policies and Plans. Written policies and plans serve as tools to guide the health department’s work and bring structure and organization to the department. Written policies and plans provide a resource to the health department staff as well as to the public.
Chemical Terrorism Clinical Specimen Transport
The release of a dangerous chemical is a real possibility, whether it is an accidental or intentional release. It is important that we are all prepared to properly collect, transport and store clinical specimens for chemical analysis following an intentional or accidental chemical release. This course will address issues such as types of specimens to be collected, proper documentation and labeling of samples, chain of custody protocols and how to package and ship specimens from potentially exposed individuals.
